A client record is the anchor for everything else: projects, proposals, contracts, invoices and files all hang off it.
Clients hold company details, address, billing information and a primary contact, and can be marked active or inactive so old relationships stay searchable without cluttering current work.
Adding a client
- Go to Clients → New client.
- Fill in company, contact and address details.
- Click Create client.
Contacts
Each client can have multiple contacts. Contacts are who proposals and invoices are addressed to, and one can be set as the billing contact for a project.
- Open the client and, on its Overview tab, click Add contact.
- Enter a name and any of title, phone, email or notes.
- Click Add contact to save it.
Updating several clients at once
Select more than one row on the Clients list to reveal Deactivate, Reactivate and Bulk update (status, free-text tags, and customer-since date, applied to every selected client).
Importing clients from a spreadsheet
Bring in existing clients from a CSV instead of adding them one by one. Only managers and admins can import.
- On the Clients list, click Import, then Download CSV template.
- Fill in the template (Client Name is the only required column) and save it as CSV.
- Upload it, and choose what to do with a row that matches an existing client by name: Skip it, Update it, or Stop the import.
- Click Validate and preview, check the row counts and any warnings or errors, then click Import.
