Invoices are raised against a client and usually a project, and can reference the contract they bill under. They carry issue and due dates, a tax percentage, notes, payment instructions and an optional payment link.
| Invoice status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Draft | Being prepared. |
| Created | Finalised but not yet sent. |
| Sent | Issued to the client. |
| Partially paid | Some payment recorded, a balance remains. |
| Paid | Settled in full. |
| Overdue | Past its due date with a balance outstanding. |
| Cancelled | Voided. |
Creating an invoice
- Go to Invoices → New invoice.
- Choose the project; the client is derived from it automatically.
- Set the billing period. Rizqo pulls in uninvoiced phase progress and unbilled time for that project and period as lines.
- Add any manual lines with Add item, then click Save as draft, Create invoice, or Create & Send.
Building the lines
Rizqo assembles the lines for you from the project: fixed phases at the percentage you are billing, hourly work from the unbilled time entries, or both together on one invoice. Each line records what it came from, so an invoice can be traced back to the phase or the hours behind it.
Templates and numbering
Invoice templates control layout and branding, and the template used is stored on the invoice itself so a historic document keeps the design it was issued with. Numbering format is a workspace setting.
Cancelling, reverting or deleting an invoice
From the ⋯ menu on an invoice's row in the list, Cancel invoice is available whenever its current status allows it. Deleting an invoice is blocked if it has recorded payments (remove those first), or offers Revert to draft first if it has left draft; a draft invoice can be deleted outright.
Updating several invoices at once
Select more than one row on the Invoices list to reveal Bulk update, which can set status (limited to Draft, Created, Sent or Cancelled, because paid states follow recorded payments and aren't set this way) and due date across every selected invoice.
